Yellin/McCarron Team

Yellin/McCarron is small, by design, with an onsite staff of five and a powerhouse roster of portfolio professionals - senior-level media planners and buyers who have years of experience with some of the country's largest agencies. As such, we are a nimble shop with the flexibility to respond to the needs of our clients quickly and efficiently. Our hands-on approach isn't a gimmick, it's how we operate to ensure the needs of our clients are met.

The Yellin/McCarron team is made up of smart, ambitious, sometimes quirky professionals in their 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s. As members of the Y/M team, we wear many hats. We depend on and learn from each other. We share knowledge and philosophies. And pizza on Thursdays. Here's a snapshot of the Y/M team:

Patricia McCarron, President

Patti began her advertising career more than 30 years ago as a political media buyer. She became Vice President of Yellin Media in 1987, and has been President of Yellin/McCarron since 1995. In addition to running the day-to-day operations of the firm, Patti also oversees planning and buying for all clients. She takes great pleasure in regaling the staff with stories about her hippie days.

Pamela is the most recent addition to the Y/M team coming from Blue Man Group's press and marketing department (no, she is not blue). In addition to her role as Account Director for Blue Man Group, Pamela is also New Media Specialist, with responsibility for creating online marketing strategies for existing Y/M clients and new clients of Fort Point Media, Y/M's interactive division.

Matt DeFusco, Production/Traffic Manager

Matt has worn many hats during his 5-year tenure at Yellin/McCarron, from reception to bookkeeping, and now production and traffic. Matt has also provided the office with dry sarcasm as well a youthfully positive, yet skeptical perspective of the world. Outside of the office, Matt's first love is music; he is a drummer as well as a hip hop and reggae engineer/producer with a degree in Audio Production from the New England Institute of Art.

Marybeth Maercklein, Media Specialist

After years of developing and executing media plans for agencies like Ogilvy & Mather and Arnold Worldwide, Marybeth took time out to start a family. Now, with three children, a husband, and a chocolate lab to answer to, she escapes through her work as media planner and buyer on the Blue Man Group/Boston account. One of Marybeth's favorite pastimes is attending her son's hockey games. She also loves to cook, EAT and plan parties.

Philosophy: It's not giving back, it's giving forward.

Terry Morrissey, Controller

Terry joined Yellin/McCarron in October, 2005 as a media rookie, and spent two years learning about the business as a print buyer and account manager. He was promoted to Controller in January, 2008 with responsibility for all company financial decisions. Prior to joining Yellin/McCarron, Terry worked as a musician and producer, was Vice President of a high-end consumer electronics retailer, and has owned and operated a retail clothing chain. Donna Pearlstein, Media Planner/Buyer

Donna is one of Yellin/McCarron's "portfolio professionals," with responsibility for broadcast planning and buying for a number of Y/M accounts, including Neighborhood Health Plan, Jordan Hospital, and MassEquality. Donna worked at both HHCC and Arnold during the '80's and 90's, leaving to become a freelancer twelve years ago.

When she isn't negotiating broadcast campaigns, Donna can be found chaffeuring her children to soccer fields throughout Metrowest Boston, meeting friends for coffee, reading a best seller or taking care of her "baby", a Westie named Freddie. Born and raised in the South, she still uses the occasion "ya'll" and will never drive a "cah".

Mari Hall Weldon, Account Manager/Media Buyer

Mari began her media career over 14 years ago at Arnold Advertising, one of the country's largest agencies. She rose quickly through the ranks by combining strategic thinking with an unparalleled work ethic. Mari comes to Yellin/McCarron with both consumer and business-to-business experience, having developed and managed highly effective marketing and media initiatives for retailers (TJ Maxx), financial institutions (Fleet), consumer packaged goods (Hoods), and technology companies (EMC). Mari currently manages and buys media for the BankNewport account.
